When did you first truly get excited about drifting?

I believe it was back in 2008 when I heard about drifting. A friend of the family’s son had been talking about it one day and showed me some videos and I thought it was cool, but like most I was a high schooler and started out in the Honda scene. Moving forward to 2010 (after watching Slide America with some friends) I really wanted to buy an S13, there was something about that movie that just made me love the chassis. That and the fact one of my friends had one just persuaded me that much more, so I ended up buying one. But I don’t think it was truly till 2011 when I went with one of my friends to spectate him driving in one of the ddays, that I truly got excited about it. The moment I went for my first ride along sold me on the whole thing!

What cars influenced your car’s style?

I’m going to have to say a lot of the Chicagoland cars from 2010 influenced my style. I always loved the street style look! Super low and stylish, basically a rolling car show.

Who influenced you to develop the drift style you have?

I can’t really say that one person influenced my drift style. I think it just developed from over the years of watching friends and videos online and just taking bits and pieces of everything and creating something of my own. At the end of the day I think your driving style is unique and a reflection of yourself.

Why did you choose to take the path through drifting that you did?

I grew up loving extreme sports (Skateboarding, BMX, and Snowboarding, etc.) for the fact that there was really no pressure involve with it (like most team-based sports). I think that grassroots drifting offers the same concepts and lets you go out and just have a good time. I think that is truly why I have taken this path, it allows me to just go out, have a great time with all my friends and not have the stress and headache of having to compete or what not, because I believe at some point it would just stop being fun and you would lose sight of why you go into drifting in the first place.
