2024 Event Rules and Tech Inspection Guide

Attire for all staff, drivers, riders and media: Closed toed shoes and long pants
Applies to ALL staff, drivers, riders, spectators, and media: The use of any narcotic, controlled substance, performance-enhancement drugs, and/or recreational drugs, as defined by federal and/or state law, by any participant, is expressly prohibited, even if prescribed by a licensed physician. Consumption of alcoholic beverages shall not commence until all official functions of a specific series or event have been completed.***USAIR: BBQs are allowed, but only with the use of gas grills. Charcoal grills are not permitted
Failure to abide by stated rules will result in removal from venue without refund.
All drivers must:
Have appropriate driver’s color/design wristband. Any person(s) without a driver’s wristband is not allowed to drive on track.
Note: All drivers must pay driver registration fee, sharing a car is permitted, but each driver will need to be registered. Registration is per driver not per car.
Have DOT/Snell approved helmet, on and fastened at all times on track.
Have seat belt fastened and seats must be securely and properly mounted
Maintain a 5mph speed limit in all pit and non-hot course areas.
Have no passengers during non-designated times ride-along times, no friends, no media, no staff members etc.
Keep all body parts (arms, hands, feet, etc) must remain inside the vehicle at all times. Drivers must also communicate this to all passengers.
Abide to any direction given by staff members or track management.
Attend all drivers meetings
Have their vehicles inspected for tech before driving (see SECTION D)
Recognize no drift zones, typically marked by cones and identified during the drivers meeting, anyone caught drifting outside of these zones will lose their driving privilege
Keep their pit area clean and ensure all garbage is in a garbage can before leaving the venue
Recognize if they have a fluid leak to immediately pull off track until the leak has been handled. DO NOT drive through the track leaking fluids.
Inspect their vehicles on a regular basis throughout the day to ensure the car is safe to operate on track
Stay on course unless a leak is expected. In the event that you do go off course, drive carefully at a reasonable pace back on track. Do not slam on the brakes, do a donut or burnout off track. Roll through it to prevent any damage to the grounds.
***AT USAIR, must not do a standing burnout anywhere on the grounds, rolling burnouts are permitted

Tandem:
All participants must agree to tandem. DO NOT follow unless other drivers have given a clear acknowledgement to you.
Flagger must acknowledge all participants in tandem runs
Helmet must be DOT/Snell rated
Staff can prevent tandem runs at their own discretion
Failure to abide by stated rules will result in removal from venue without refund.
Tech Inspection:
All drivers must arrive to the venue at least one hour before the drivers meeting to get their vehicle inspected. If you arrive late and are not inspected before the drivers meeting you will need to wait until an inspector is available before driving.
All drivers must ensure their vehicles meets all of the below at a minimum, failure to meet standards will require you to correct them before being allowed on track.
Vehicle must have easily accessible front and rear tow point.
- If bumper needs to be removed, make sure to have necessary removal tools inside vehicle
Appropriate tire pressure
No leaking or excessive fluids
All vehicles must have at minimum a fire extinguisher within reach of the vehicle and securely mounted
No loose items inside the vehicle
No loose engine or suspension parts
- Ensure intakes, catch cans, fuse boxes, and all other engine components are secure and fastened
Firm brake pedal
Working brake light is required
Night/rain events will require working parking and head lights
The windshield may not have any major defects and be clear for the driver to see through
Battery must be secured and positive terminals covered
A coolant overflow tank is required
Cooling systems can only use water and water wetter
All lug nuts must be installed and engage a minimum of 4 threads of the wheel studs
Convertible cars must have roll over protection
Roll cages with door bar are recommended, but NOT required
Power steering reservoir must be covered with a non-flammable fabric, e.g. headband, sock, or rag

Media:
Anyone who has media privileges (inc. assistants) must have a media pass.
All media who are on the track must have a spotter.
All media must wear a high visibility vest. Media members must provide their own vest.
If a media person has assistant(s), but did not request a Media Pass for them, the assistant(s) are not allowed in hot areas. They may ask a staff member who are willing and available. Staff members' priorities are what is needed to run the event and not assisting media. Therefore if there is assistance needed elsewhere, the media that needs an extra hand will need to wait.
All media members looking to utilize drones must contact simba@final-bout.com prior to use
- Use of drones at Horse Thief Mile (Special Stage West) must have proof of insurance and list W.S.I.R. as additional insured, please contact Simba@final-bout.com for more details
If media puts themselves, drivers, and/or bystanders at risk and repeatedly continue to put others at risk after being warned, privileges will be revoked from them and their assistants/crew/company.

Ride-a-longs:
Ride-a-longs are allowed during designated time(s), which are announced during the driver’s meeting.
- Ride-a-longs are NOT permitted at Horse Thief Mile
All passengers must be 18 years of age or older.
DOT/Snell approved helmet must be worn and fastened at all times along with closed toed shoes and long pants.
All body parts (arms, hands, feet, etc) must remain inside the vehicle at all times.
Passengers may not walk out onto the track, they must be transported in an approved vehicle.
When the ride is complete passenger must be returned to the pits or designated spectator area. Passengers cannot loiter at staging area or any other parts of the course.
Failure to abide by stated rules will result in removal from venue without refund.
When on the track:
SPECTATORS ARE NOT ALLOWED ON THE TRACK. Only authorized staff and media.
All body parts (arms, hands, feet, etc) must remain inside the vehicle at all times.
If the vehicle fails on the course, do not attempt to resolve the issue on the track. Move the vehicle to a non hot part of the track. If needed, push it back into the pits or request a tow.
When the designated drifting course has ended, do not attempt to drive aggressively thereafter.
Media are only allowed to stand at designated sections of the track, if you are unsure, please ask a staff member.
