Team: Front Street Drift Club
Name: Geoff Stoneback "Dad"
When did you first get truly excited about drifting?
I first got excited about drifting back in 2003 when my friends Jordan Lampkin showed me and Brian Hop his 180SX from Japan. He was in the Bahamas so back then all the JDM cars were there. He showed me track videos of him drifting in lots and on the streets. I was hooked right from there.
What cars influenced your car’s style?
I grew up watching Grip Video and Options. The JDM style/ scene is where it's at, there's honestly too many to name and half people wouldn't know or remember. For the US I'd say Forrest Wang and Ken Gushi are those that still rep those styles for U.S.
What drivers influenced your driving style?
Forrest Wang, Gushi, Daddy Daigo, Naoki , Yakoi
Why did you choose to take the path through drifting that you did?
I just went with it. I never want to live with the "what ifs" in life so I took the opportunities I could. I like where drifting is now, fun grassroots events with great people. There is nothing better than that!
