When did you first get truly excited about drifting?
Summer of 2010. I started street drifting in the rain with my stock Super HICAS S13. In September of 2010 I went to my first track event which introduced me to other locals that were into drifting. It made me strive to progress within this group.
Who influenced you to develop the drift style you have?
While Japanese style influences are commonplace, I didn't need to draw inspiration from Japan. Most of my inspiration over the years came from the Midwest. Before I could bring my own car to the party I spent many events in a media vest. I found the most excitement came from the best cars and driving I saw in person.
Why did you choose to take the path through drifting that you did?
Though I would enjoy competition to a degree, I found the best people and the most fun can be had at a grassroots level. Besides personal preference of engine sound and turbocharged aspiration, the path I took didn't feel like a conscious choice. Drifting more or less forced a path on me. It's an addiction with good intentions and harsh realities. If you push through your struggles, the rewards are simply indescribable.
